Sports Teams Set to Begin Fall Seasons

Christendom College's athletics program is set to begin its fall sports season this coming weekend, with men's and women's soccer jumping into action on August 27. The games are the first of many on the schedule for Christendom's numerous athletic teams this fall, which will be playing full seasons for the first time since 2019.

Over the past two seasons, many of the college's athletic programs saw truncated or ever-changing schedules due to COVID-19, with the college working through these challenges to still offer competitive play for student-athletes. The 2022 fall season will see a full return to play, most notably for the men's and women's soccer programs and the women's volleyball program.

The soccer teams will begin their respective seasons on the road this Saturday at Frederick CC before men's soccer plays their first home game against Mary Baldwin on September 1 and women's soccer takes on Hagerstown CC on September 6. Volleyball, meanwhile, will begin their season at home against Central Penn on August 31.

For rugby, the defending Rugby 15s National Champions will begin their season at home on September 10 against Christopher Newport University, looking to exceed their spectacular 2021-22 season.

In addition, the college's men's and women's cross-country teams will compete in their first meet on September 1 at the Shenandoah University Twilight Open.

Key home weekends this season will include:

  • September 9: Men's Soccer
  • September 10: Men's Rugby, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer and Women's Volleyball
  • September 23: Women's Volleyball
  • September 24: Men's Rugby, Men's Soccer, and Women's Soccer
  • Homecoming Weekend, October 8: Men's Rugby, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer
