On May 2nd, the athletics department held its annual end-of-year sports banquet. At the banquet, the athletics department honored our graduating seniors with personal plaques commemorating their years of participation in Christendom varsity sports, as well as honoring Sophomore Ian Heisler with his USCAA Player of the Week Award for his no-hitter thrown on March 3rd.
The Crusaders returned to action for a double header at Bing Crosby Stadium on Saturday, April 14 to take on the Valley Forge Patriots. The Crusaders came out swinging and tallied up fifteen hits in the first game. They were led by Kolbe Heisler, Ian Heisler, Michael Mersch, Josh Wilson, Stephen Buonocore, and Michael Urankar who all put up multiple hits. Sophomore Tim Clauss had his first hit of the year, while Urankar and Ian Heisler both had
4 RBIs a piece. Valley Forge had no answer for the hot bats of the Crusaders, and couldn't get anything going off of the stellar pitching of Ian Heisler, leading Christendom to victory, 17-4.
In the Second game the swinging Crusaders came to play again, banging out a total of thirteen hits. Freshman Stephen Buonocore had the only extra base hit for the Crusaders, hitting a line drive to the fence for a double. The Heisler brothers, Ian and Kolbe, combined for six RBIs in the second game (three apiece). Behind the pitching of Buonocore and Freshman Caleb Wilson, the Crusaders ended up with another victory, 15-5.
The boys return to action this weekend as they face Central Penn on Friday night and Williamson Free Trade on Saturday afternoon, both games on the road.

In the first game of a doubleheader against the University of South Carolina at Union, the Crusaders lost 8-5 to the Bantams. Freshman Kolbe Heisler started his first game of the season on the mound for the Crusaders.
In the second game of their doubleheader against the University of South Carolina-Union, and the final game of their spring break road trip, the Crusaders fell to the Bantams 14-4 in six innings. The Bantams scored three runs in the first two innings off of Crusaders starting pitcher Josh Wilson.
On Wednesday of the Crusaders spring break trip, the baseball team faced the College of Faith of Charlotte, NC in a doubleheader. In the first game, Ian Heisler started his second game this season for the Crusaders.
In the nightcap of the doubleheader with College of Faith, the Crusaders battled in a back and forth game and held on the win 9-8. Stephen Buonocore started on the mound for the Crusaders and went three innings and allowed four runs (three earned) and had one strike out.
In the first game of their spring break road trip, the Crusaders fell to the St. Andrew’s University Knights 15-5 in five innings. Although the Crusaders jumped ahead early with a run in the first inning, the Knights came back with one run in the bottom half of the first inning

The Crusaders opened their season by wining the first game of their doubleheader against Williamson Trade 8-0. Sophomore Ian Heisler shut down Williamson with a complete game no-hitter, allowing no runs, no hits, and only three baserunners. Earning his first win of the season, Heisler had eight strikeouts and allowed only one walk.
In the second game of a doubleheader against Williamson Trade, the Crusaders battled to a close 3-2 victory. The Crusaders got on the scoreboard early with runs in the first and second innings, followed by a run later in the fifth inning. Freshman Stephen Buonocore started on the mound for the Crusaders and threw four scoreless innings.
