Front Royal, VA- Crusader Baseball picked up two wins Tuesday evening, 4/4, sweeping the Patrick Henry Sentinels in a home doubleheader.
Game 1: The first game of the doubleheader was a back-and-forth battle for the two teams. The Sentinels jumping out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. However, the Crusaders, bounced back quickly, scoring five runs in the first two innings to give the team the 5-3 lead. Patrick Henry was determined to reclaim the lead as they scored two runs in the third, fourth and fifth to give them a 9-6 advantage. However, the Crusaders rallied with a huge seven run bottom of the fifth to take the lead 13-9. Both teams went scoreless the rest of the game giving the Crusaders a key comeback win.
Game 2: The second game of the day brought an explosion for the Crusader offense. The team blew things open early with an 11-run bottom of the first. After taking the dominate lead the Crusaders never looked back as they rolled to a 17-2 victory.
