Crusaders are Unable to Leave Weekend with a Win

In their second game of the Invitational, the Christendom men’s basketball team played Warren Wilson from Asheville, North Carolina.  Saturday afternoon’s game for the Crusaders started well with Stephen Foeckler getting a pass from Nick Santschi and hitting a three pointer to go up 3-0.  They battled back and forth but found themselves unable to break Warren Wilson’s full court press consistently and their half court pressure and trapping defense got the best of Christendom’s young team in the first half and they found themselves in another tough situation.

In the second half, Christendom came out playing with a little more energy and urgency, scoring a few buckets, but Warren Wilson continued with their full court press and trapping defense for most of the half, which continued to give Christendom fits.  Stephen Foeckler lead the charge scoring 12 points while lone senior Jake Wagner chipped in 8 points.

The team will get back to work and prepare for another busy week of basketball.  They play Appalachian Bible College at 6pm on Tuesday and Randolph College at 5pm on Thursday, both contests at Crusader Gymnasium.
