Front Royal, VA- The Crusaders defeated the Appalachian Bible College Warriors this past Saturday (Jan 25th).

The Crusaders jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, Michael Urankar (Senior) scoring the first four points on back to back layups.  Although the Crusaders started out hot the Warriors were able to weather the early storm.  The teams played neck and neck the rest of the half, the Crusaders losing by only one at halftime, 36-35.  The Crusaders came out with defensive determination in the second half.  The team held their opponents to only 22 second half points while scoring 39 points of their own.  The teams strong second half performance lead to them winning the game 74-58.

The Crusaders strong offensive effort was led by three players in particular: Joe Dotson (Freshman), Michael Urankar (Senior) and Owen Kennedy (Sophomore).  These three all finished the game scoring double figures: Dotson had 14, Urankar ended with 13 and Kennedy led all scores with 22.  Ian Heisler (Senior) shared the ball well in the win as he notched a game high five assists.  The team as a whole had an impressive shooting day as they hit on 48.2% of shots. 

The Crusaders travel away in their next game, taking on the same Appalachian Bible on Saturday, Feb 1st.
