Arnold, MD- The Crusaders travelled up to Maryland to take on the Riverhawks of Anne Arundel Community College, where they fell by a score of 90-77.
The first half was tightly contested. The Riverhawks' led by as many as 11 with about 7 minutes left. However, the Crusaders fought back to make it a 4-point game at the half, the score being 42-38.
In the second half, the Riverhawks got out to a hot start, extending their lead to 13 points. Once again, the Crusaders fought back, cutting the lead to 1 with 12 minutes left in the game. Although they fought back hard, they were never able to regain that lead. After the push by the Crusaders, the Riverhawks slowly put the game out of reach, the final score being 90-77.
John Paul Vander Woude (Sophomore/ Nokesville, VA) led the Crusaders with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Heisler (Sophomore/ Front Royal VA) followed with 18 points, and Owen Kennedy (Senior/ Mount Vision, NY) had 14 points and 16 rebounds.
The Crusaders play Dabney S. Lancaster on the road this Friday, followed by a home game this Saturday against the College of Southern Maryland.
