Crusaders Defeat Warriors, 68-38

Front Royal, VA – Christendom Crusaders Men's Basketball team was victorious over Appalachian Bible Warriors 68-38 on Friday, February 3.

The beginning of the game brought sold back-and-forth play between the teams. In the 14th minute of the game, a layup Dominic Smith (Senior/Manassas, VA), gave the Crusaders control of the game. The momentum continued for the Crusaders as Andrew Heisler (Junior/Front Royal, VA) drained a three to extend the Crusaders' lead. With this continued momentum the Crusaders dominated the remainder of the first half. They finished the half with a bucket by Smith giving the Crusaders a 14 point lead at 37-23.

The Crusaders carried the momentum from the first half, into the second. They continued to play with aggression and added to their lead. A field goal from Joe Curran (Freshman/Manassas, VA) put the Crusaders at 50 points with 15 minutes remaining in the game. A free-throw made by John Torkelson (Freshman/Gillette, NJ) gave the Crusaders their last point of the game. The Crusaders played an incredible game and were able to hold the Warriors to only 15 points in the second half. The final score was 68-38, the Crusaders victorious over the Warriors.

The Crusaders had 11 different players in the points column. Bobby Vander Woude (Freshman/Nokesville, VA) led the team with 12 points, followed by Josh Pabst (Freshman/Mesa, AZ) who finished with10. Leading the team with 10 rebounds, Joe Castellan (Freshman/Front Royal, VA) played a major role on the boards.
