Crusaders Win Home Opener 98-26 Over the Warriors

Front Royal, VA - Christendom Crusaders Men's Basketball team was victorious in their home opener against Appalachian Bible Warriors 98-26, on Saturday November 11th.

As the first half began, the Crusaders immediately started to dominate the game. Early on in the half, Daniel Shultz (Freshman/ Fredericksburg, TX) had an impressive dunk off a pass from Peter Ethridge (Senior/ Phoenix, AZ) increasing their momentum. Less than 10 minutes later, Freshman Joe Ethridge (Freshman/ Phoenix, AZ) gave the Crusaders a 22-3 lead with a layup off a steal. The Crusaders offense was clicking on all fronts leading to an impressive half. With less than five minutes remaining, a layup from Bobby Vander Woude (Sophomore/ Nockesville, VA) gave Christendom an even larger lead over the Warriors. The half came to a close with the Crusaders over the Appalachian Bible 48-11.

Bringing their momentum from the first half to the second, the Crusaders continued to control the court. P. Ethridge contributed greatly to the Crusaders game in the second half, draining multiple threes. The team continued to lock down on defense, creating many offense opportunities. The game came to a close with a final score of 98-26, the Crusaders victorious over the Warriors. Christendom made 50% of their field goals and had an impressive number of rebounds in the game. J. Ethridge led the team with 24 points, followed by Vander Woude with 14.  

Next Up: The Crusaders will play The Crown College in a home game on Thursday November 16th, at 7pm.
