Christendom Rugby Wins Big vs Christopher Newport

Front Royal, VA- Crusader Rugby took home a big win last Saturday against the Captains of Christopher Newport University, winning 91-5. 

John Kennedy(Freshman/ Mount Vision, NY) opened up the scoring for the Crusaders less than a minute into the game, giving the Crusaders lots of momentum early. The Crusaders followed this score with another try from John Ascough(Freshman/ Blackrock, Ireland) in the fifth minute. The Captains would respond with a score of their own, making the score 12-5. The Crusaders would respond with a barrage of tries, starting with another try from Ascough, followed with one from Thomas Santschi(Junior/Manassas, VA), one by Owen Kennedy(Senior/Mount Vision, NY), another from Ascough, and one from Johnny Curran(Senior/Manassas, VA). The Crusaders went into the half with a 39-5 lead. 

The Crusaders dominated the second half of the game as well, with another impressive barrage of tries. Owen Kennedy would score three tries in this half alone, giving him four on the day. John Kennedy would score two more in the second half to give him three total for the game. James Hambleton(Junior/ Bristow, VA) would have two tries in the second half, and Kevin Howerton(Sophomore/ Rocky Mount, NC) would add one more. 

The Crusaders play next against Washington and Lee on October 9.
