Pete Day Breaks Scoring Record in 1-1 Tie against Washington Adventist

FRONT ROYAL, VA. - Twenty-one minutes and forty seconds into Christendom's regular season finale against Washington Adventist, Senior Pete Day found the back of the net.  The goal was Day's twenty-sixth of the year, tying his own single-season record for goals and setting a new school record for career goals (82).

The rest of the game was a back-and-forth battle, with neither team displaying a clear advantage over the other.  Adventist's William Rodriguez poked in a goal in the 57th minute, but that was the only scoring of the game.  Regulation ended in a 1-1 tie, as well as the first overtime, and the second overtime, at which point the game was declared a draw.

Postgame, Day and his fellow soccer-playing seniors Jeremy Mersch, Ian Heisler, Matt Hill, Emily Weichert, AJ Hill, Gemma Youngman, and Courtney Hahn, were honored for their years of playing for the Crusaders.

Congratulations to all!
