Soccer Star Named To All-State Team

Soccer star Pete Day can add another accomplishment to his storied college athletic career: being named to Virginia's College Division All-State Soccer Team. The Virginia Sports Information Directors named Day, who finished 2nd in goals and points scored nationally for the USCAA, to the All-State first team, featuring the best players in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Day joined players from the University of Mary Washington, Christopher Newport University, and others on the All-State team, marking his final accomplishment as a member of the Christendom Crusaders men's soccer team. This season, Day broke Christendom's all-time soccer scoring record, shooting his 82ndoverall goal in the final game of the season. For 2018, Day scored 26 goals and 56 points overall, earning the #2 ranking in the country for the USCAA.

Day consistently placed highly on the nationwide charts during every season of his soccer career at Christendom, with his prowess on the field helping the Crusaders earn many a win during his four years. This season, he also earned 1st Team All-American honors for men's soccer from the USCAA.

VaSID names 27 all-state teams in 15 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions.
