Lady Crusaders Complete Sweep of Trinity

Lady Crusaders Complete Sweep of Trinity

The second game of the night went just as well for the Lady Crusaders. Annie Adams took the mound and pitched a tight game, striking out 5 batters and walking only one. The girls let no more than 4 batters get up to the plate each inning due to a combined effort of good pitching and clean plays on the field.

In the 5th and final inning, the defense shone. Bridget Handy and Maggie Adams each threw to first to get the first two outs, and then Mary-Grace Handy sealed the win with an incredible diving catch off of a foul ball.

On offense, Christendom also brought their best, scoring runs in every inning. Everybody hit, including a triple from Annie Adams in the 3rd, and a double by her sister, Sophie, in the 5th.

Freshman left fielder Sophie Gordon played a great game overall, with a clutch catch in the outfield as well as a hard-hit single up the left side in the 4th. Elizabeth Rensch contributed to the hitting with a beautiful grounder hit right up the 3rd base line in the 2nd inning.

The girls ended with 13 hits and finished the game with a score of 21-1.

The Softball team take their 6-2 record to Pennsylvania to play at Messiah College on Monday, April 18 for a 4:30pm game.
