Lady Crusaders Fall in Season Finale

Lady Crusaders Fall in Season Finale

The Lady Crusaders closed out their season with a tough loss this last Monday, when the team traveled to the beautiful campus of Messiah College in Pennsylvania. It was a sunny, warm, and clear—the perfect weather for playing softball. Messiah College's varsity team is a national champion, and so the team knew to expect excellence from their development team.

They did not disappoint; while the Crusaders fought a hard battle, the Falcons did not let up. Even with Annie Adams pitching 4 solid innings, Sophie Adams and Nicole Feldman making great catches in the outfield, Maggie Adams and the rest of the infield fielding grounders and making sharp throws, the Falcons pushed ahead.

The first 4 innings remained close, with the Falcons going up by a score of 3-0. In the fifth inning, however, Messiah pulled too far ahead for Christendom to be able to catch up again. Their pitcher played a great game and only gave up two hits, and their batters skillfully hit to the open areas of the field.

Despite the final score of 15-0, the Lady Crusaders held their heads high. They look forward to working hard and improving in the off season in preparation for next year.
