The Lady Crusaders basketball team battled a tough Trinity University of DC team last night, 71-31, increasing their win streak to 2.
Both teams competed hard in the first half, but in the second half, the Lady Crusaders were able to keep their pressure on Trinity University to come away with the victory.
The Lady Crusaders' leading scorers for the game were Freshman Mercy Willson and Senior Helena Briggs, with 18 points each. Following close behind was Senior Gemma McMahon, who double-doubled with 12 points and 12 total rebounds. To go along with her 18 points, Willson also double-doubled, leading the team with 16 rebounds, followed by Senior Georgie Messing who snagged 15 rebounds. Messing and Senior Clare Hepler led the team with 7 assists each.
The Lady Crusaders play next on Saturday, January 26 at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, NC.
