Front Royal, VA- Lady Saders played the Knights of Central Penn in their season opener held on November 13. The Team fell hard to the Knights, loosing the game by a final of 74-31. The Lady Saders most glaring issue came in possessing the ball, they gave the ball away time after time, many possessions ending in turnovers. The Crusaders racked up a total 43 team turnovers, just five less then the number of field goals they attempted, 48.
Senior forward, Michaela Pennefather, was the Crusaders one bright spot. In her first collegiate basketball game she recorded a double-double, with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Other players to mention; Freshman point guard, Kate Walz, and Senior forward, Mary Heisler, these two both recorded 8 points and 8 rebounds in the contest.
After the big loss in their first game the team needs to find its identity. They have a long season in front of them and there is still plenty of time for the necessary improvements to be made to have a successful year.
