Crusaders Improve to 2-0 in 95 Point Win

Front Royal VA- Crusader Women's Basketball took on Patrick Henry this past Saturday, November 20. After defeating Hagerstown the night before, the Crusaders kept rolling, defeating Patrick Henry 95-21.

In the first half, both the Crusader's power offense and strong defense were on full display. After taking a 4-2 lead the Crusaders never looked back. They dominated on both sides of the ball going on a 40-0 run, giving them an impressive 42-2 lead. The Crusaders kept the offense going as they finished the half with 53 points.

The second half brought more of the same, The Crusaders starting the half with an 18-0 run giving them a 71-6 lead. Patrick Henry found its offense for the rest of the half, scoring 15 points in the final 12 mins. Although Patrick Henry found its offense, the Crusaders kept their offense rolling, finishing the game with 95 points. Giving them the 95-21 win.

The team's 95 points is the most scored in a single game by Christendom Women's Basketball, in the team's recorded history.

The Crusaders spread the scoring, with 9 of 10 players cashing in on the stat sheet. Four Crusaders in particular, led the team's impressive offensive effort. Agnes Wingate (Sophomore/ Huntly, VA) led all scorers with 20pts. Catherine Thomas (Freshman/ Portland, TX) lit up the stat sheet with a triple-double, 18pts, 10 rebounds, 10 steals, while also leading the team with 7 assists. Miranda Keller (Freshman/ Harrisburg, PA) notched a double-double, with 17pts, and 11 rebounds. And Kate Walz (Junior/ Baltimore, MD) had 13pts of her own.

After going 2-0 over the weekend the Lady Crusaders are off to the best start in the team's recorded history. The Crusaders stay home for their next game, taking on the Central Penn Knights on Dec. 1.
