Arnold, MD- The Lady Crusaders traveled up to Arnold, Maryland where they took on the Riverhawks of Anne Arundel Community College. They prevailed 64-62 on a last-second shot from Catherine Thomas (Freshman/ Portland, TX).
The game for the first three quarters was very tight and well-contested. The Riverhawks led by 5 entering the fourth quarter. However, Christendom fought back and forced the game into overtime from a very clutch series of plays which involved a jumper from Thomas and a layup from Rachel Grande (Sophomore/ Buffalo, NY). The 5 minute overtime period was tight throughout, and the game was tied with 7 seconds left after a made free throw from the Riverhawks. After the free throw the Crusaders called timeout, drew up a play for Thomas to get the ball at the free-throw line. The play worked beautifully, as Thomas buried the 15-footer to win the game for the Lady Crusaders.
Thomas led all scorers with 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as well. Regina Bonvissuto (Freshman/ Kingston Spring, TN) followed with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Miranda Keller (Freshman/ Harrisburg, PA) registered another double-double, with 10 points and 11 rebounds, her fourth on the year.
