Lady Crusaders Pick up 11-Point Win Vs Regent Royals

Front Royal, VA- On Tuesday, February 15, the Lady Crusaders brought in their eighth win of the season verse the Regent University Royals, with an 11-point win.

The Crusaders came out hot and just 5 minutes into the game they were already leading 13-2.  The team kept pouring it on throughout the rest of the first half. With 6 minutes left in the half, Miranda Keller (Freshman/ Harrisburg, PA) hit a jumper and just 30 seconds later Catherine Thomas (Freshman/ Portland, TX) nailed a big three. These back-to-back buckets gave the Crusaders their largest lead of the half, as they went up 29-9. Regent's shots started to fall for the rest of the half, the team scoring 10-points over the final 5 minutes, to make the score 33-19 at the half.

The Crusaders kept clicking early in the second half and seven minutes into the half the team had its largest lead of the game, 47-22. In the final 10 minutes the Royals were able to string together quality possessions on both defense and offense. Because of their elevated play, the Royals were able to close the gap, but the Crusader's lead was too large as the team brought in its eighth win of the season, 50-49.

The Crusaders win was led by three players in particular. Thomas was the all-around team leader as she finished the game with a very impressive stat line: 15 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Keller led all scores with 20 points. And Katherine Walz (Junior/ Baltimore, MD), in her second game back from injury, finished with 13 points.
