Front Royal, VA – Wednesday, February 23, was Senior Night for the multi-sport athletes Annie Heisler (Senior/Front Royal, VA) and Annie McGraw (Senior/Manassas, VA). The Crusaders took down the Patrick Henry Sentinels, 77-35. 

The girls came out hot in their final home game of the season with immediate pressure. Within the first five minutes of the quarter the Crusaders had a 14-point lead over the Sentinels. The team dominated the both the offensive and defensive side of the ball giving them the full advantage over Patrick Henry. At the end of the half the Lady Crusaders were up 38-10.     

The Sentinels came out of the half ready to fight back and press the Crusaders on defense, they managed to drain a several much needed 3-pointers. Mid-way through the half the Sentinels had more than doubled their score to give them 22 points. However, the Crusaders did not slow down as they extended the lead to 40-points, the score being 61-21.  Heisler, who had been injured for the majority of the season, strapped on her knee brace to play in her last game and ended her season with a 2-point jump shot in the final minutes of the game. The Crusaders kept their offense rolling, finishing the game off with a final score of 77-35.      

McGraw, went out with a bang as she ended her last home game with a total of 9 points, 3 steals, 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Catherine Thomas ( Freshman/Portland, TX) led all scorers with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Miranda Keller ( Freshman/Harrisburg, PA) also had another impressive game with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
