Crusaders Defeat Tiger 82-30

Front Royal, VA – Christendom College Women's Basketball responded to back-to-back losses with a dominate 82-30 win over the Trinity College Tigers this past Thursday, January 25, bringing their record to 15-3.

The Lady Crusaders scored early and often in the first quarter. It took them less than three minutes to jump ahead 12-0, scoring 32 overall in the opening quarter. Catherine Thomas (Junior/Corpus Christi, TX) Lili Speir (Senior/Phoenix, AX) and Miranda Keller (Junior/Harrisburg, PA) all contributed to Christendom's first half offensive production. After 20 minutes of play, the score was 51-17.

The Crusaders' dominant play continued throughout the second half. Additionally, Christendom's defense put forth an impressive performance, allowing a total of 14 points in the half. Trinity's Brenae Ford notably managed 20 points throughout the game, but this certainly wasn't enough for the Tigers. Christendom's ability to quickly advance the ball down the court was far too much for their opponent. This led to the Crusaders capitalizing on many fastbreak opportunities during the half. With a clicking offense and a smothering defense the team won by a large margin, the final score being 82-30.

In a great team win, everyone on Christendom's roster got minutes and contributed. Five different players reached double digits in points. Mary Pennefather (Freshman/Manassas, VA), Catherine Thomas and Miranda Keller all posted double-doubles. As a team, The Lady Crusaders shot an impressive 48.1% from the floor.
