Crusaders Drop Home Game 2-1 in a Close Match

Front Royal, VA – Christendom College Women's Soccer Team fell 2-1 in a close match against Potomac State at home on Thursday.

The Crusaders and the Catamounts came out with great intensity in the first half. Both teams fought to control the game, but the Catamounts put the first goal in net to take the lead 1-0. The Crusaders continued to push and were able to tie the game before the end of the half with a goal from Megan Lovar (Freshman/Odenton, MD) assisted by Catherine Thomas (Sophomore/Corpus Christi, TX). The first half came to a close with the score remaining 1-1.

Although the second half was an even fight between the teams, in the 75th minute, the Catamounts were able to put a goal in the back of the net to again take the lead. The Crusaders continued to battle hard but were not able to put in another goal before the final whistle, falling to the Catamounts 2-1. Miranda Keller (Sophomore/Harrisburg, PA), Christendom's keeper, again played an impressive game with a total of 12 saves.
