Crusader Women’s Soccer Season Recap

Christendom Crusader Women's Soccer had a successful season with a winning record of 0.556 at 10-8. The Crusaders started their season strong, winning two of their first three games. Their season was highlighted by some impressive victories and hard-fought games. In September, the Crusaders had three consecutive shutouts against Patrick Henry winning 7-0, verses Penn State Mont Alto 2-0 and at Trinity victorious 4-0. With this momentum, the team continued to push hard for the remainder of their season. The Crusaders closed out the season with a three-game winning streak. In the final game, they were dominate against Washington Adventist, shutting them out 8-0. The team was led by several players this season. Leading the team in each offensive category, as well as goals, assists and points for the USCAA, Catherine Thomas (Sophomore/Corpus Christi, TX) had a remarkable season with 21 goals. Crusader's keeper, Miranda Keller (Sophomore/Harrisburg, PA), led the team's goalie stats. Keller was also first in saves for the USCAA stats, finishing with a total of 138 in the season. Freshman Megan Lovar (Freshman/Odenton, MD) and Sophomore Colleen Kosten (Sophomore/Warrenton, VA) followed Catherine for goals, Lovar with 11 and Kosten with 8, in the season. Thomas, Lovar, Kosten, Keller and Mary Sabados (Sophomore/Pittsburgh, PA) led the team in points. Overall, the team had a great season and has an exciting season to come.
