Front Royal, VA--Lady Saders fell to the Ferrum Panthers, this past Thursday (Oct. 17) by a set count of 3-1.  The Crusaders fought hard throughout the match, but they simply did not have the firepower to take down their NCAA D-III opponent.  The Crusaders fell hard in the first set, loosing by a score of 25-14.  With the crowd cheering them on, the Crusaders bounced back in the second taking the set by a score of 25-21 and tying the match at one set a piece.  The Panthers were back on track as the third set got underway, and after jumping out to an early lead they went on to win 25-15.  The fourth and final set of the match brought the most exciting moment for the Crusaders and their loyal fans.  Shortly into the set Senior, Michaella Pennefather, who was 13 kills away from 1,000 at the beginning of the match, rose up and hit an absolute bullet of a kill, giving her 1,000 carrer kills! With the kill Pennefather became the first ever Crusader to reach the 1,000 mark.  The Team fought hard the rest of the set, taking it to 21-21, however they simply ran out of gas, the final being 25-21.  With the loss the team dropped to 8-15 on the season.  Although the Crusaders did not get the win this will go down as a monumental game, due to the incredible feat achieved by Michaella.
