Front Royal, VA- This past Saturday, Christendom Volleyball defeated the Warriors of Appalachian Bible College in both games of a home doubleheader, winning both matches by a score of 3-0.
In the first game, the Lady Crusaders played great, winning each set handily. They never let their opponent touch 20 pints in each of the three sets. This performance was a great team effort, led by another strong offensive performance from Agnes Wingate(Sophomore/ Huntly, VA), who had 12 kills for a game-high. Claire Mense(Junior/ Lakeland, FL) led the team in assists with 23, and Fiona Briggs(Junior/ Front Royal, VA) led the team in digs with 11.
Christendom carried the momentum of a strong performance in the first match right into the second, winning 3-0 again. All three sets were won by a score of 25-18. Wingate led the Lady Crusaders in kills in this game as well with 11, Mense led in assists with 19, and Briggs led the way in digs with 17.
Christendom Volleyball plays next on October 2 at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA.
