Front Royal, VA- The Christendom Volleyball team suffered a tough loss yesterday against the Hawks of Hagerstown Community College. The Hawks defeated the Lady Crusaders in straight sets despite some very good efforts from the Lady Crusaders.
The Hawks came out firing on all cylinders in the first set as they went on to win the first two sets 25-13 and 25-16. The Lady Crusaders came out with a newfound energy in the third set, going on a couple of exciting runs powered by a very loud student section supporting the Lady
Crusaders. Christendom would fall short, however, by a score of 25-21.
Agnes Wingate (Sophomore/ Huntly,VA) led the team in kills with 11, Claire Mense (Junior/ Lakeland, FL) led the team in assists with 17, and Fiona Briggs (Junior/ Front Royal, VA) led the team in digs with thirteen. Cathrine Brezinsky (Freshman/ Montrose, CO) chipped in with 4 kills and a team-high in service aces.
The Lady Crusaders look to avenge this loss against Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Saturday. It will be Senior Night for Megan Dano (Allentown, PA) and Annie Heisler (Front Royal, VA), so come out and support our seniors!
