Volleyball Splits Home Tri-Match

Front Royal, VA – Crusader Volleyball took on the Regent University Royals and the Mid-Atlantic Christian University Mustangs on Saturday, September 9. The Crusaders fell to the Royals but beat the Mustangs later in the day.

The Crusaders came out strong against the Royals, and were up 12-10 halfway through the first set. However, the Royals were able to overcome the Christendom lead to be victorious 25-15. The next two sets also ended in the Royals' favor, 25-14 and 25-12.  The Crusaders' defensive effort was led by Sophie Simpson (Sophomore/Mandeville, LA), who had 19 digs.

The Crusaders came back later in the day with a decisive victory over the MACU Mustangs.  They won in three sets, with scores of 25-11, 25-15, and 25-14. Nora Ross (Sophomore/Tulsa, OK) and Regina Cousino (Sophomore/Ann Arbor, MI) were key on offense, as Ross finished with 11 kills and Cousino had 27 assists during the match.  Elizabeth Heisler (Freshman/Front Royal, VA) also played an excellent game, finishing with 6 aces.
