Crusaders Finish 3rd In Hornet Harrier

Winchester, VA- Crusaders Cross Country traveled to Shenandoah University this past Saturday, 9/24 to compete in the Hornet Harrier Invitational.

The Women hit the paths first, as their 6k race starting at 9:45am. The Women's competed at a high level as they secured 3rd place out of seven teams, finishing the day with an average time of 27:06. Margaret Kolesar (Senior/ Cranberry, PA) led the way for the Crusaders as she finished with a 25:18 time. Faustina Whittaker (Junior/ White Post, VA) finished second for the team, with a 26:43 time. Shortly after the Women finished, the Men's Team was off and running for their 8k race. Crusader runners, Joseph Ellefson (Senior/ Gallup, NM) and Alexander Girata (Freshman/ Windham, NH) were the teams top two runners. Ellefson finished 23rd and Girata came in 38th out of 99 runners.

Up Next: The Crusaders will be off and running on Friday, 10/7, at Mary Baldwin University in the Golden Acorn Invitational.
