FRONT ROYAL, VA—United Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Manor College (5-4-0 overall, 2-1-0 Eastern States Athletic Conference) junior midfielder Shiube Larabi's (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy) go-ahead penalty kick goal in the 62nd minute helped seventh-ranked USCAA Division I Manor College defeat the sixth-ranked (tied) USCAA Division II Christendom Crusaders (4-5-1, 1-3), 2-1.
This was the Blue Jays' first visit to the Crusaders.
Manor scored the only first-half goal with a late tally. Freshman midfielder Jallah Murvee's (Philadelphia, PA) pass around the 18-yard line went to freshman forward Moussa Cherif (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge). Moussa's shot from around the 18 went into the left side of the net for his third goal of the season (44:40). Murvee contributed his second assist of the season on Moussa's goal. Manor outshot Christendom, 10 (three on goal) to five (two on goal).
Christendom tied the match early in the second half. Crusader senior forward John Paul Tsakanikas scored on a penalty kick after a Manor foul inside the 18. His shot went into the left side of the net for his first goal of the season (47:30). Larabi scored the game-winner in the half. Manor was fouled by Christendom inside the Crusader 18. Larabi's penalty kick went into the lower left-hand corner of the net for his third goal of the season (second on a penalty kick) (61:50). The Crusaders had a chance to tie late in the match on a direct kick between the 18 and midfield, but the shot went wide and the clock ran out. Manor outshot Christendom in the second half, seven (six on goal) to five (four on goal). The Blue Jays outshot the Crusaders for the match, seven (nine on goal) to seven (six on goal).
