MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Penn State Greater Allegheny Men's Soccer team secured a thrilling 4-3 come-from-behind victory against Christendom on Friday, with Max Whitson leading the charge by scoring a hat-trick.
The game began with Christendom taking an early lead as Tim Sheedy scored in the 20th minute, followed by Joshua Cruz's goal just before halftime, putting Christendom up 2-1 at the break. Michael Damoah scored the lone first-half goal for Greater Allegheny in the 35th minute.
Whitson then took over in the second half, scoring three goals in a 20-minute span to turn the game around. His first goal came in the 55th minute, followed by another quick strike just three minutes later. Whitson completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute, securing the comeback victory. Christendom's Isaias Odiatu pulled one back in the 80th minute, but Greater Allegheny held on for the win.
