Crusaders Fall in Opener to Hood College

The Crusaders lost to Hood College 0-14 on Tuesday, March 21.  After a rough first inning where Hood scored 4 runs, the Crusaders, led by the stellar pitching by Ian Heisler, defensively rallied to allow just 1 score for the next 4 innings.  In the top of the 6th, Hood strung together a few hits and some walks and the floodgates opened; and Hood College widened their lead considerably.

The biggest struggle for the Crusaders was their bats, having only 1 hit the whole game.  This was due to a combination of Hood's pitching and solid defense robbing a few hitters of hits.

Following what ended up being a game ended by the slaughter rule against what will most likely be the Crusader's best opponent, the Crusaders look to redeem themselves this weekend when they play Shenandoah University's JV team this Saturday in Winchester, VA, followed by a double header against Valley Forge at home on Sunday and 1pm.
