Crusaders End Road Trip With Loss To USC Union

In the second game of their doubleheader against the University of South Carolina-Union, and the final game of their spring break road trip, the Crusaders fell to the Bantams 14-4 in six innings. The Bantams scored three runs in the first two innings off of Crusaders starting pitcher Josh Wilson. The Crusaders offense fought back though in the fourth inning with four runs, The Crusaders pitching gave up four hits and their defense fell apart, committing two costly errors in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Bantams scored 9 runs to take the lead for good.

The Crusaders offense had their second quiet day at the plate vs the Bantams pitching. The Crusaders' 4 runs in the fourth inning were the only runs they managed to squeeze across the plate. Freshman Stephen Buonocore led the Crusaders offensively with two hits, a run scored, and two RBIs.

The Crusaders finished with a 2-4 record on their spring break trip to put their record for the season at 4-4. The Crusaders are scheduled to play against Geneva College at home on Monday, March 12 at 5pm.
