Crusaders Lose First Game of Weekend at Johnson and Wales

The Christendom men’s basketball team travelled south to Charlotte, North Carolina this past weekend to Johnson & Wales University for the Johnson & Wales Invitational.  On Friday night, November 13, they had the tough task of playing the host team, which were defending semi-finalists the season before in the USCAA tournament.

Christendom had the tough task of breaking their aggressive press and half-court pressure throughout the game.  The youth of Christendom was exposed throughout the game, but at times, Christendom broke their press, ran an offense, and worked together to breakdown their defense.  Freshman, Jerome Norton lead the team in scoring with 12 points and 4 assists while fellow Freshman Patrick Pennefather followed with 10 points and lead the team with four rebounds.

Even with the tough defeat to Johnson & Wales, the team learned some valuable lessons from the loss and had to start preparing to play another tough opponent in Warren Wilson College the next afternoon.
