Crusaders Earn First Win of 2025 over Patrick Henry

Following a tough match at Regent University, the Crusaders set out to secure a crucial win. The Sentinels had a similar mindset, wanting to shift the balance of their historical encounters with Christendom College. With both teams bringing this determination to the game, it resulted in an intense first half and a constant change in the lead. The score remained tight for the majority of the half. With less than five minutes remaining, Freshman Luke Ross (Freshman/ Tulsa, OK) made a pivotal layup to push the Crusader's on a run pulling away from the Sentinels on the scoreboard. Thanks to the Crusader's newfound aggression, the first half came to a close with Christendom leading Patrick Henry 39-30.
The final minutes of the first half set the play for the remainder of the game. The Crusaders continued to find their rhythm and extend their lead. Within the first five minutes of the second half, Edmund Thomas (Freshman/ Corpus Christi, TX) increased the Crusader's lead to over 10 points, capitalizing on a rebound from Bobby Vander Woude (Junior/ Nokesville, VA). Vander Woude continued to impact the game significantly, making a free throw to extend the team's lead to 20 points. He finished the game on top of the team's stats with a total of 28 points. Despite the Sentinels' effort to regain their play from earlier in the game, they were unable to suppress Christendom's energy. The horn sounded with a final score of 85-61, the Crusaders earning another victory.
Freshman Thomas had an outstanding performance in the match making 100% of his shots, going 5-5 from the field for 13 points, as well as contributing defensively with 6 rebounds.
