Bio

Coach Jim Conrad is entering his 9th season as the head coach of the Christendom Rugby team.

Before being named as the head coach for Christendom, Conrad spent 3 seasons serving as an assistant coach for the Crusaders. Before coaching at Christendom, he coached for Franicscan University of Steubenville for two seasons, one as a head coach, and one as an assistant coach.

During his time coaching for the Crusaders, Coach Jim has led the Crusaders to numerous national tournament appearances, and two national championships. The first came in 2017, when Christendom secured its first ever national championship in any sport with a NSCRO 7’s National Tournament win in Chester, PA. The second came in Houston in 2021, when the Crusaders won the first ever Cohen Cup in the NCR Small College 15’s National Tournament. The Championship was won in dramatic fashion, with a try scored in the final seconds of the game to give Christendom a 39-24 win over New Mexico Tech.

Along with his two national championships, Conrad also guided the Crusaders to Rugby 7’s semi-finals in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2024. Christendom went to the championship game in 2022, but fell just short of a national championship. Conrad also had a championship game appearance in the 2019 NSCRO 15’s National Tournament.

Along with Coach Jim’s decorated coaching resume, he also is a decorated player himself. Conrad played four years of rugby for Fransican University of Steubenville, where he served as captain during his time there. He is also a member of the FUS Rugby Hall of Fame.

Coach Jim is currently a realtor at Homestead Realty in Gainesville, VA, and lives with his wife of 16 years and two children in Culpeper, VA.
