Lady Crusaders Fight Hard in Loss

In the second game of the double header vs College of the South-Sewanee, the Lady Crusaders continued their solid momentum from the last several innings of Game 1, getting a couple of walks and timely hits which lead to a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  They played solid defense and scored again in the second inning to go up 4-0.

With both teams' pitchers finding their rhythm, the game became a back-and-forth defensive battle, highlighted by 3rd baseman Nicole Feldman's quick glove, which robbed a hard hit line drive to end the 3rd inning and keep a couple of runs from scoring. Unfortunately, the Lady Crusaders were unable to keep up their momentum. Sewanee took the lead 5-4 in the Fifth inning, and eventually won 7-4.

Annie Adams and Mary-Grace Handy led the team with their bats, and Bridget Handy had three stolen bases for the Crusaders. Sisters Annie and Maggie Adams had solid performances on the mound. In this second game of the double-header, the Lady Crusaders eliminated errors that haunted them in the first game, kept the game close, and saw glimpses of their potential for the rest of the season.

Their next games are a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 22 vs Trinity University at Bing Crosby Stadium at 5pm and 7pm.
