Lady Crusaders Destroy Trinity For First Victory

The Lady Crusaders took the field on Tuesday night, focused and ready to avenge their losses their first two games of the season vs The College of the South-Sewanee. On a beautiful spring afternoon, the Lady Crusaders were eager to play Trinity University from Washington D.C. and get a win in the win column.

With Junior Mary Solitario on the mound and pitching well, the defense did their job to get out of the top of the first inning, leaving a runner stranded on third base. The Lady Crusaders bats were awake and scored 4 runs in the first inning. The Lady Crusaders continued their tough defense throughout the game behind Mary Solitario's 1-hit, 9 strikeout performance.

The Lady Crusaders' solid hitting resulted in scoring 17 runs, highlighted by Bridget Handy's inside-the-park homerun in the 4th inning. In front of growing Christendom Crazy crowd, the softball team won game one of the doubleheader, 17-0.
