Christendom Pulls Away in Second Half to Defeat Regent, 71–47
Virginia Beach, Va. — Christendom Women's Basketball used a strong second-half performance to secure a 71–47 road victory over Regent on Saturday afternoon. After trailing early, the Crusaders asserted control with balanced scoring, defensive pressure, and dominance on the glass.
Regent jumped out to an early advantage, holding a 20–17 lead after the first quarter as Christendom worked to settle into the game. The Crusaders responded in the second, tightening defensively and finding rhythm offensively to move in front 37–33 at halftime.
Christendom carried that momentum into the third quarter, outscoring Regent to extend the lead to 50–42 heading into the final period. The Crusaders then put the game away in the fourth, limiting Regent's scoring opportunities while executing efficiently on offense to close out the 71–47 win.
Lucy Pennefather led Christendom with a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds, providing a steady presence inside throughout the contest. Mary Pennefather followed with 25 points and eight assists, orchestrating the offense and knocking down timely shots. Sydnie Villarreal added 12 points, while Angelica Morales made a significant impact on the boards with 16 rebounds and strong interior defense.
