Crusaders Take Down Apprentice
Front Royal, Va. — Christendom Women's Basketball earned a hard-fought 68–64 win over Apprentice on Tuesday night, using a strong third-quarter surge and balanced contributions to secure the home victory.
The Crusaders edged ahead early, taking a 17–16 lead after the first quarter before building momentum in the second. Christendom's offensive rhythm improved as the half progressed, allowing the Crusaders to carry a 35–29 advantage into halftime.
Christendom delivered its best stretch of the game in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 57–45 behind efficient scoring and defensive stops. Apprentice mounted a late push in the fourth, but the Crusaders remained composed down the stretch, converting key possessions to hold on for the four-point win.
Lucy Pennefather led Christendom with a dominant all-around performance, finishing with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists while anchoring the offense throughout the contest. Mary Pennefather followed with 22 points and four assists, providing steady scoring and playmaking. Sydnie Villarreal added nine points and six assists, while Georgie Snyder contributed nine points and timely perimeter shooting.
