Christendom Earns Home Win Over Washington Adventist
Front Royal, Va. — Christendom Women's Basketball delivered a decisive home performance on Tuesday night, defeating Washington Adventist 79–55 to avenge an earlier-season loss to the Shock. The Crusaders controlled the game from the opening tip, combining efficient offense with sustained defensive pressure across all four quarters.
Christendom set the tone early, jumping out to a 21–9 lead after the first quarter as it limited Washington Adventist's scoring opportunities and capitalized in transition. The Crusaders continued to build separation in the second quarter, pushing the margin to 45–23 at halftime behind strong interior play and crisp ball movement.
Christendom maintained control coming out of the break, extending the lead to 60–35 after three quarters. While Washington Adventist found some offensive rhythm in the fourth, the Crusaders remained composed and closed out the contest to secure the 79–55 victory.
Lucy Pennefather led Christendom with a dominant performance, finishing with a game-high 34 points and 12 rebounds. Mary Pennefather posted a triple-double effort with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists, orchestrating the offense throughout the night. Sydnie Villarreal added eight points, while Myri Parsons provided a spark off the bench with seven points on efficient shooting.
The win marked a strong response for Christendom in the rematch and highlighted the Crusaders' growth on both ends of the floor as they continue their season at home.
