The Christendom College Lady Crusaders played at Penn State Mont Alto Monday, October 12th. The Lady Crusaders returned to the field after their loss against Washington Adventist, and after quite a struggle with Penn State Mont Alto, they were able to pull through with a win, 3-2.
In the first half, the Crusaders were on the attack constantly, placing several shots on goal. However, none of these shots were able to find their way to the back of the net. The Lady Crusaders were finally able to place one in the net off of a shot from Sophomore Bryn Burgess. Later in the half, the Penn State forwards beat the Christendom defenders and score their first goal, leaving the first half as a tie, 1-1.
In the second half, the Crusaders continued to lead an attack but had a hard time penetrating the defense. Penn State got the edge on the Lady Crusaders when they scored their second goal leading 2-1. However, the Crusaders countered this with 2 more goals netted by Sophomore Catherine Gaetano, bringing home the win, 3-2.
The Lady Crusaders will next play at Gallaudet University on Wednesday, October 14th at 7 pm.
