Lady Crusaders Beat Trinity Washington College Yet Again

Lady Crusaders took on Trinity Washington College for the second time at Trinity’s home field Wednesday, September 30th.  The Crusaders carry on their undefeated streak in their sixth game of the season.  They finished the game 6-0, making this their fifth shutout.

 

The Lady Crusaders began the start of the game off strong as they maintained possession of the ball through most of the half.  The Lady Crusaders opened the scoring in the 16th minute, by a goal from Junior Anne Nelson off of a through ball from Sophomore Bryn Burgess.  Nelson scored another goal in the last 5 minutes of the half bring the score to 2-0.        

 

In the second half, the Crusaders picked up where they left off with two goals, one from Freshman Mary Grace Handy in the 58th minute and a header from Sophomore Bryn Burgess in the 61st minute.  Both goals were off of corner kicks taken by Anne Nelson.  Sophomore Catherine Gaetano tallied the fifth goal of the game and the scoring ended off of a penalty kick taken by Freshman Mary Cook.  The Crusaders have achieved their fifth shutout thanks to a fierce defensive line and 9 saves from Goalkeeper Madeline Hill.
