Women’s Soccer Falls 1-0 to Hagerstown Hawks

Hagerstown, MD- Crusader Women's Soccer fell to the Hagerstown Hawks 1-0 on Tuesday, September 26, after a hard-fought game.

Both the Crusaders and Hawks began the game with intensity, and the match was very physical from the start.  The Crusaders worked through wet field conditions and mist which made the ball slippery and unpredictable.  Despite good play by the Crusader back line, the Hawks were able to score 18 minutes into the first half.  The Crusaders were unable to find the back of the net, as the first half ended 1-0.

The Crusaders continued to fight hard throughout the second half, holding off the Hawks' attack while also registering several shots on goal.  However, the Crusaders remained unable to score, and the game ended in favor of Hagerstown.

Serena Keller (Freshman/Harrisburg, PA) played very well in goal, finishing the match with 9 saves.

Up next – The Crusaders take on the Montgomery Raptors in Takoma Park, Maryland, on Saturday September 30 at 12:00pm.
