Crusader Soccer Takes First Season Win Vs Sentinels
Front Royal, VA – Christendom Crusaders Women’s Soccer Team gained their first season victory, winning 4-0 against the Patrick Henry College Sentinels on Wednesday, 9/4.

The game began with a slow start with neither team scoring for the first 23 minutes, when Theresa Luckey (Sophomore/Front Royal, VA) found the back of the net off a corner kick from Miranda Keller (Senior/Harrisburg, PA), putting the Crusaders up 1-0. The Crusaders continued to play with intensity for the remainder of the half, leading to an unassisted goal by Olivia Seif (Freshman/Grand Rapids, MI) just before halftime in the 42nd minute. The first half ended with the Crusaders leading 2-0.
Both teams started the second half strong, with the score remaining 2-0 until the 65th minute, when Catherine Thomas (Senior/Corpus Christi, TX) scored from the top of the box off an assist from Collette O'Reilly (Sophomore/Front Royal, VA). Seven minutes later, a cross attempt from Ava Hudson (Freshman/Manassas, VA) deflected off a Sentinel defender into the net, putting the Crusaders up 4-0. The Crusaders played lockdown defense, led by center defenders Maria Blank (Sophomore/Woodbridge, VA) and Theresa Hambleton (Freshman/Vienna, VA), and prevented the Sentinels from releasing any shots on goal. The Crusaders held off the Sentinels, earning a 4-0 shutout victory.
