Volleyball Finishes Hard Fought Season

Christendom Crusader Volleyball had a hard-fought 2023 season, finishing with a record of 10-11. After opening their season on August 26th, the Crusaders battled through some tough games leading up to an impressive victory against Penn State Du Bois, 3-1. Later in the season, the Crusaders came out with a memorable win at home, rallying from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in a close match against Frederick Community College. In their final home game, the team played a strong game to secure yet another win 3-1 over Appalachian Bible.

The Crusaders had several different leaders offensively and defensively this season. Nora Ross (Sophomore/Tulsa, OK) led the team in kills with an impressive 186 kills in the season. Following Ross, Elizabeth Heisler (Freshman/Front Royal, VA) had 91 kills and Catherine Brezinsky (Junior/Montrose, CO) finished with 59 kills. Leading the team in assists was Regina Cousino (Sophomore/Ann Arbor, MI) with a grand total of 405. Heisler also led the team in service aces racking up 42 over the season. Sophie Simpson (Sophomore/Mandeville, LA) led on defense, finishing the season with 196 digs. The Christendom Crusader's Volleyball program has a young team this season, with no graduating players, giving the team a solid foundation moving into the 2024 season.
