Crusaders Win Big on Friday Night
Front Royal, VA - The Christendom College Volleyball team dominated the court in a 3-0 victory against the Trinity College Tigers on Friday, September 20th.
Front Royal, VA - The Christendom College Volleyball team dominated the court in a 3-0 victory against the Trinity College Tigers on Friday, September 20th.
The Crusaders went into the first set determined to control the momentum of the match. It did not take long for Christendom to capitalize. The offense quickly found the Tigers side of the court, while a combined effort on defense kept Trinity from reaching double-digits in the first set. The Crusaders had a strong start to the game, blowing their opponent in the first set 25-7.
This momentum carried into the second set for Christendom. Although the Tigers picked up their intensity, the Crusaders' defense continued to shut them down. The second set quickly came to a close with the Crusaders again victorious over the Tigers 25-12.
Trinity was unable to hold up against the intensity of the Crusaders play, and the third set again resulted in triumph for Christendom. The team kept up their aggression in this set and took down the Tigers 25-17.
Crusader's Lucy Stahl (Freshman/ Linden, VA) had an impressive game on offense with a total of 9 kills and 12 points in the match. Also displaying a striking performance for the Crusaders was freshman Maureen Coffey (Freshman/ Omaha, NE) with high numbers across the stats board. Thanks to a capital performance from the entire team, the Crusaders ended the day sweeping their opponent in an exciting 3-0 victory.
