  • Christendom College Awarded USCAA President's Cup

    Christendom College earned the USCAA’s 2019 President’s Cup for Academics this past weekend, as announced by the collegiate sports organization. The award, which is given to the school with the most Academic All-Americans and whose athletes have the best GPA, is Christendom’s first and a testament to the college’s strength in balancing sports success with academic excellence.
  • Crusaders Take 4th at 7's National Championship

    The Christendom Crusaders’ season came to a close in Philadelphia this past weekend, with the rugby team taking 4th at the NSCRO 7s National Championship. After battling through pool play on Saturday, they ultimately came up short in the semifinal game against New Mexico Highlands University.
  • Crusaders Place 2nd at 15's National Championship

    The Christendom Crusaders finished second at the NSCRO 15s Rugby National Championship, falling to repeat champion The Claremont Colleges in the final match. The Crusaders, who entered the final game as the #1 ranked team in the nation, fought hard, leaving it all on the field in front of Christendom fans who were present and watching the exciting game live online.

    From Christendom’s volleyball team reaching its first National Championship to the rugby team earning trips to two separate National Championships, the 2018-19 academic year was full of defining moments for Christendom Athletics. At the center of these moments were 37 senior student-athletes who earned numerous honors during their four years, leaving behind a legacy of sportsmanship and perseverance that the college will remember for years to come.

    The Christendom Crusaders are National Championship-bound again, defeating Duke University, Susquehanna College, and others to clinch its third-straight trip to the NSCRO 7s Rugby National Championship.
  • Christendom Rugby Ranked #1 in the Nation

    Christendom College seized the #1 ranking in the nation in the final NSCRO Rugby 15s Top 30 Coaches Poll of 2018. The jump from #3 to #1 in the nation officially marks the highest ranking ever achieved by a Christendom sports program and sets the Crusaders up well for the National Championship Final Four this coming April.
  • Rugby Wins Mid-Atlantic South Region Championship

    The Christendom College Crusaders are now the Mid-Atlantic South Region Champions in rugby. The Christendom Crusaders defeated the Catholic University of America in a thrilling final match on Sunday afternoon 43-24, wrapping up a mud-soaked weekend and earning their first trip to the NSCRO 15s Final Four in April.
  • New Sports Physicians Ready to Assist College Athletes

    Sports seasons can be a grind, as athletes give their all to try and help their teams succeed day in and day out. At Christendom, the athletic department is seeking to make these seasons as easy as possible on students’ bodies, resulting in a new partnership with Performance Sport and Spine — a team of sports physicians committed to helping Christendom athletes avoid injuries as much as possible, making them that much more of a force on the field, the court, and in the classroom.
  • Christendom Athletes Named Top Players by USCAA, CCRC
    November 10, 2018
    Christendom's student-athletes were awarded top honors by the USCAA at their annual awards banquet on November 8, with two athletes awarded the organization's prestigious Student-Athlete of the Year awards, while numerous others named to the organization's All-American teams. In addition, the Cardinals Collegiate Rugby Conference named six Crusaders to their All-Conference teams, making this fall one of the most awards-decorated in school history.

    The Crusaders fought their way to a second consecutive trip to the NSCRO Rugby 15s National Championship Playoffs, defeating Duke University in a thrilling final to win the Cardinals Conference Champions Cup on November 3 and 4 in Roanoke, Virginia.
  • Week Recap: Rugby And Soccer Score Big Wins Over Homecoming Weekend

    A roaring crowd and an offensive onslaught helped lead the Christendom Crusaders rugby team to its second straight win over the Homecoming weekend, defeating Washington and Lee University 53-38. The Crusader soccer team followed that game with its own victory, thrashing Valley Forge 7-0, while the Lady Crusaders volleyball team won its 11th straight and the Lady Crusaders soccer team fell 7-0 to Howard Community College.

    The USCAA #3 ranked Lady Crusader volleyball team added another accomplishment to its sterling season this weekend: a 1st place finish at the CCBC Essex Volleyball tournament, bringing home another trophy for Christendom athletics. Elsewhere, the Crusader rugby team picked up its second win of the season with a 24-5 win over Virginia Commonwealth University. The Lady Crusader soccer team shutout Trinity University 9-0, and the Crusader Cross-Country team placed 3rd at the Frostburg State Invitational.

    Pete Day led the way for Crusader soccer, with his heroics lifting the team over D-III Marymount University 4-3 this past week. The Crusaders capped off their perfect week with an 11-0 win over Southern State, while rugby fell to the Northern Virginia Griffins, Lady Crusader Soccer lost to Hagerstown Community College, and Lady Crusader Volleyball defeated Penn State Mont Alto.

  • Crusaders Work Hard, Score Wins Over Labor Day Weekend

    The Crusader athletic teams are back in season, with each of Christendom’s fall sports competing over Labor Day weekend. Both men’s and women’s soccer teams emerged victorious from their opening games, while volleyball competed in the USCAA Tip-Off Invitational and cross-country made a strong showing at the Bridgewater Invitational.
  • 6'8" Player of the Year Comes to Christendom

    Christendom freshman Owen Kennedy, at 6-foot-8, towers over most people on campus. His height, athletic talent, drive, and character power him to success both on and off the basketball court – facts that led him to earning the college’s Thomas S. Vander Woude Athletic Scholarship to attend Christendom this year.
