Purcelville, Va.- The Christendom College men's soccer team earned a solid 2–0 road victory over Patrick Henry on Tuesday afternoon.
The Crusaders opened the scoring in the 20th minute when freshman Luke Vander Woude rose above the defense to head home a corner kick from senior captain Niall Maguire. Christendom continued to control possession and outshot Patrick Henry 16–4 over the course of the match.
In the 77th minute, sophomore Tim Sheedy sealed the win, finishing a setup from senior Charlie Wyckoff to make it 2–0. The Crusader defense held firm throughout, earning the team's second shutout of the season.
With the result, Christendom improves to 4–7–1 on the year. The Crusaders will next travel to face Manor College on Saturday, October 11.
