Lady Crusaders Advance to Quarterfinals with first ever National Tournament Win

Richmond, VA- Christendom College Women's Basketball (24-5) secured their first ever victory in the USCAA National Tournament on Sunday, 3/10, as they took down Penn State Shenango (18-9), 76-52.

The Crusaders jumped out to an early lead fueled by a very strong shooting performance by the entire team. Christendom scored an impressive 48 points in the first half to take a commanding 48-26 lead into the half.

The team cooled off a bit in the third quarter as they only scored nine points but in the fourth the Crusaders were back to their scoring ways, putting up a 19 spot in the frame.

A few players shined for Christendom. Mary Pennefather (Freshman/ Manassas, VA) finished with a double-double of 33 points and 16 rebounds. Catherine Thomas (Junior/ Portland, TX) also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. And finally, Miranda Keller (Junior/ Harrisburg, PA) finished the day with 13 points.
