Crusaders Defeat Penn State Mont Alto at Home
Front Royal, VA – The Christendom Women’s Basketball team dominated the Penn State Mont Alto Nittany Lions in their last home game of the semester on Tuesday, December 10th. The Crusaders controlled the pace of the game on both ends of the floor, leading to a decisive victory that increased their winning record to 8-0.

Front Royal, VA – The Christendom Women's Basketball team dominated the Penn State Mont Alto Nittany Lions in their last home game of the semester on Tuesday, December 10th. The Crusaders controlled the pace of the game on both ends of the floor, leading to a decisive victory that increased their winning record to 8-0.
The Crusaders controlled the game from the tip, leaping ahead to a 13-4 lead by the end of the first quarter. Although the Lions played aggressively, they were unable to penetrate the Crusaders' rock-solid defense. Between their stifling defensive presence and their fast-paced offense, the Crusaders kept the Lions on their heels throughout the game. By the end of the first half, Christendom led 40-18 over the Lions.
In the second half, the Crusaders continued to build on their substantial lead. Their unrelenting defense forced a total of 19 Mont Alto turnovers, which led to productive offensive possessions. The Crusaders battled on the boards and earned 47 team rebounds, allowing them to capitalize on second looks on offense. By the end of the third quarter, the Crusaders held a 61-27 lead and they cruised to the final buzzer, winning 73-38.
Mary Pennefather (Sophomore/Manassas, VA) put on another impressive performance, earning a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Regina Bonvissuto (Senior/Kingston Springs, TN) stepped up with 23 points, while Catherine Thomas (Senior/Corpus Christi, TX) and Miranda Keller (Senior/Harrisburg, PA) secured 11 and 10 rebounds respectively for the Crusaders.
