Crusader's Volleyball drove 4 hours on Friday night and another couple hours on Saturday morning to compete in a USCAA quad-match in New York. The Lady Crusaders first faced the host, The Culinary Institute of America, and then SUNY-Delhi, also from New York, and finished the day with Dean College out of Massachusetts. This was the Lady Crusaders second quad-match of the season.

The Lady Crusaders started off strong against the CIA Steels, winning the first set 25-23. Sophomore Gemma McMahon started the second set with 3 straight aces, and the Lady Crusaders held the lead until CIA tied it up at 21-21. It was anyone's game at that point, but the girls fought back to win the last four points, taking the match with a score of 25-21. The girls started off their third set keeping a tight lead on the Steels, and finished with a score of 25-16, sealing their first win of the day in three sets.

Up next, the Lady Crusaders fought hard for their win against SUNY-Delhi. The first game was very fast-paced, with neither team able to take a sizable lead. With the teams tied at 27-27, Sophomore Celina Albisu sealed the first set for Christendom with back-to-back aces. The girls entered the second set playing well, and with a key block by Junior Sylvia Messing when the game was tied at 19-19, the Lady Crusaders pulled through to win the set 25-22. The third set started off close, with the game tying at 14-14, but Christendom once again re-took the lead to win the third and final set 25-22.

In their final game of the day, the exhausted Lady Crusaders took on Dean College, from Franklin, MA. The team continued to play well, led by Freshman Michaela Pennefather's 13 kills, winning the first match 25-16, the second 25-22, and the third and final set 25-12.

The Lady Crusaders beat a total of 3 tough teams in an impressive 9 sets. The Lady Crusaders will attempt to continue their win streak this week with two home games, the first on Tuesday September 27 against Washington Adventist University at 7pm and the second on Tuesday September 29 against Trinity College at 7pm, both at Crusader Gymnasium.
